YOUTH EDUCATION PROGRAM

As an electric provider, we at Sam Houston Electric feel a strong obligation to educate our members and their children about how to work and play safely around electricity.

Each year, members of our staff deliver over 100 presentations to audiences at elementary schools, Boys & Girls Clubs, Boy Scout Troops and church youth groups throughout our 10-county service area. With the help of the safety education program presenter and his co-star electric safety crusaders “Neon Leon” and “Lightning Liz,” nearly 5,000 kids learn about the basics of how electricity works and the potential dangers it presents around us in our daily lives.

This community service is free of charge and available to any youth or civic group in our area. Click here to learn more about our youth education program or to schedule a presentation to your classroom or group.
