Old Jail Museum/Old Town Coldspring
1870 collection of historic buildings
and memorabilia. Points of interest include the 1870 courthouse
square: the site of a two story wooden courthouse destroyed
by fire in 1915, the Waverly School House-built in 1926 and
moved to this site in 1983 and now houses vendors of antiques,
collectibles, and crafts. The County Jail -an 1881 building
restored in 1983 and now housing the county museum, the old
Ellisor Corn Crib 1840, the old Camilla Post Office 1927-which
now houses collectibles. Also featured is the New Jackson

Lake Livingston Dam and Bridge
Located on FM 3278 in Camilla. Operated
by the Trinity River Authority of Texas, the reservoir contains
90,000 surface acres of water surrounded by 2 million acres
in San Jacinto, Polk, Trinity and Walker Counties. Lake Livingston
has a shoreline of 452 miles all of which is timbered forest
where dogwood trees are plentiful and deer roam throughout.
The lake is the second largest lake entirely within Texas
and provides recreational opportunities including fishing,
boating and swimming. Cabins and boats are available to rent
and a paved lookout site is available. For more information,

Wolf Creek Park
Owned and operated by the Trinity River
Authority of Texas, Wolf Creek Park comes to life each March
1st. The park closes for the winter December 1. Offers skiing,
fishing, hiking, and boating. A total of 30 campsites for
RV's requiring full hook-ups. There are 54 tent sites with
water and electricity and 19 tent sites with water only. A
marina and grocery are located on the premises with everything
from boat rentals to bait and provisions. Boat ramps, fishing
piers and customer-designed fish cleaning stations, restrooms
and hot showers, and coin-operated laundry facilities available.
A basketball court,playground areas, miniature golf and swimming
area are popular with children. For more information call

United Methodist Church
The sanctuary was built in 1858 and
moved to it present location on Highway 150 at Cemetery Street,
Coldspring in 1916. It was restored to 1870 period in 1973.
It is believed to be the oldest Methodist Church in continuous
use in Texas today. The outside of the building is its original
appearance and architectural structure of the interior is
authentic except for a complete reversal of the entry and
transept.
Double Lake Recreational Area
Nestled in the towering pines of the
Sam Houston National Forest and located just outside the city
limits of Coldspring, Double Lake offers a little of everything
including camping, fishing, picnicking or just getting back
in touch with nature. A concession stand offers groceries,
snacks and various supplies. It's here that you can rent a
boat to use on the lake. A bathhouse is nearby. Located on

Lone Star Hiking Trail
A 128 mile long trail which has received
National Recreation Trail status, is located between Coldspring
and Cleveland on FM 2025. The southeast section wanders through
the Big Creek Scenic area. Relatively flat with some wet areas,
bridges allow for easy crossing of creeks. The southern portion
of the trail follows an old railroad tramway. Trail markers
explain directions.
Big Creek Scenic Area
This 1,400 acre testimony to the way
things used to look is about five miles from the Double Lake
Recreation Area and well worth a visit. There are four hiking
loops in the scenic area all under a mile long. Mature trees,
wildlife and picturesque terrain abound throughout the entire
area. Exotic plants and the
red-cockaded woodpecker, an endangered species, are often
spotted.
